About Us

School Council is an important forum for communication between parents, community stakeholders and Devonshire school administrators, educators and staff. Monthly meetings are an opportunity for parents to hear directly from the principal about educational issues, board matters, neighbourhood construction projects, facilities issues and other administrative matters. Parents will also learn about the different activities taking place within classrooms and across the school community, and about resource needs.

Council serves as an advisory board to the school and may discuss and make recommendations on all school matters and engage in activities aimed at contributing to the quality of education and the overall experience of students. This includes planning activities, hosting events and raising funds.

Every Devonshire parent/guardian is a voting member of council. You simply have to be present at the meeting in order to vote. If you can't make it, you can always catch up on what you missed by reading the minutes which are posted online after Council meetings. You can also reach Council members directly via email or through the Devonshire School Council Facebook page
